April 12th 2021 was a big date for anyone in Arizona who wanted to place some bets on their top sporting teams or players. That was the date when sports betting was legalized in the state. Furthermore, details of the bill covered both retail sports betting and online sports betting, so anyone in AZ would be able to visit an online sportsbook to start making some bets.
The Arizona Department of Gaming was made responsible for monitoring legalized sportsbooks and issuing licenses to those that proved themselves worthy of them. Unusually, only a limited number of licenses were made available in 2021. Just recently, in July 2024, the Arizona Department of Gaming announced they were considering applications for new online sportsbooks in the state. At the time of writing, the window had only just closed, so it’s not yet clear whether any of the applications would be successful – or which providers may offer them. Suffice to say I will add any new sites to the list right here whenever they launch as well as the latest news on legal sports betting in AZ or elsewhere.
I’ve compiled mini reviews for all the sportsbooks on this list, touching on topics including sportsbook bonuses. Here’s a little info to whet your appetite before we reach the reviews themselves.
I’ve selected the top seven best AZ betting sites for you here. I’ve piled hours of research into my picks, so you can save time and read the info I’ve got for you. Following those seven top options, you’ll find another 13 possibilities to check out. I’ve also included those sportsbooks that are no longer available in the state, just in case you’ve been wondering why you cannot access them or find any info on them. I’ve done the hard yards already.
There’s a lot of potential for Arizonians to unlock at Bet365. I spotted a list of top sports for starters, including upcoming or live events in football, basketball, tennis, and many other sports. This puts a twist on how things usually work in this category, as the latest events to grab the headlines generally sit in there, rather than the standard favorites. There’s an A-to-Z list beyond that, followed by some specials and the chance to spot some more unusual markets. These include politics and trotting, for a quirky mix to check out.
Finding my way around was easy, with all relevant links for the sportsbook down the side of the site. Useful pages are corralled at the bottom of the page, with payments, promotions, scores, and results all landing there. There’s a big FAQ area that takes you into the help center, and a contact page that gives you all the possible ways to get in touch too. They certainly don’t hide behind their website, instead proving themselves to be a market leader. All Arizona sportsbooks should be solidly built and presented like this.
When I chose a sport to look at, I could check for current ACCA boosts, offers, and odds on the latest markets and upcoming markets. Even as a novice bettor, I think you’ll appreciate the layout and format on offer at Bet365.
Of all the sportsbooks in Arizona you could choose, BetMGM proves its worth on the landing page alone. My one niggle is the menu at the top of the sportsbook, which is so long it disappears, requiring some scrolling to see everything. However, that’s being picky – everything else at BetMGM is easy for Arizonians to explore.
Upon arrival, several promotions are spread across the top of the page, with the opening offer clearly displayed for newcomers. The others confirm there is a lot more to appreciate for established bettors in Arizona, too. BetMGM ranks high on my Arizona sportsbooks list because it covers all the popular sports along with many you don’t see at all sportsbooks. Everything from the biathlon to handball and water polo is present and correct.
This is a big site, but there’s a giant menu to match at the bottom of the site, so if you get stuck, head down to the help area there to access another big area of FAQs. It feels as if BetMGM has thought of everything, with seven menu areas there breaking everything down into useful info that’s quick to access. Once logged in, you can mark your favorites too, so it’s easier to follow your preferred sports teams in Arizona, no matter the sport. Top marks in all areas here.
It doesn’t matter how you want to access FanDuel in the Grand Canyon state – the app experience is just as good as the website. Logic underpins everything you see there, and the design alone puts it among the best Arizona sportsbooks around. I can find plenty more reasons to put it there though, including the available markets, site accessibility, and odds. Once inside a sport or match, you’ll see all kinds of odds, markets, spreads, and more. While there’s plenty of information for Arizonian sports fans to look through, it’s presented in an orderly way, making it one of the more refreshing sportsbooks to use.
The betslip is bigger than it needs to be, which can be irritating, but that was the only thing I could come up with by way of a negative. FanDuel nails the popular section of the menu by providing more than just top sports – you can spot promos and live sports there too. They’ve also got a space for the boosts you can take advantage of.
The site feels much smoother than many of its competitors. Every title on my Arizona sportsbook list has a lot of info to share, but FanDuel does it in the best manner. It’s a winning site by design, and with competitive odds, you’ve got everything you need to bet on local Arizonian teams and your favorites around the world, too.

BetRivers proves its worth as a top consideration for Arizona residents. I wish all sportsbooks in Arizona were this good looking. They’ve gone for a light backdrop and some colored logos for each sport for easier and faster identification. Each sport can be expanded to get the latest upcoming events. This keeps clutter to a minimum yet makes light work of reaching what you’re looking for.
They score highly on offering help too, with the help center and chat facilities at the top of each page, rather than hiding them away at the bottom of the site. Since that menu never disappears from view, you’re only one step from getting help whenever you need it. I also noted a link to their iRush Rewards program, offering 10 tiers plus an Elite tier if you can reach it. Access to their bonus store is guaranteed from the first tier, but the perks get better the further you go.
Of course, the sports are key here, and you can expect multiple markets and betting types for each. Timings for each event are given, with the settings option making it easy to change your odds format if desired. That’s the bottom line at BetRivers AZ – everything feels easy to do, as it should at all Arizona betting sites.
If you’re only just getting started with Arizona betting sites, consider DraftKings Arizona to be a top consideration. I spotted a series of ‘how to bet’ guides focusing on different sports such as UFC, basketball, and football – perfect if you’re new to all this. DraftKings has developed a reputation for its apps too, available for Android and iOS with high ratings for both.
I’d recommend taking a while to familiarize yourself with their sportsbook before you sign up. It’s solidly built and provides you with several menus to pore over. The popular section at the top of the left hand column is ever-changing, depending on which events are taking place or coming soon. One quirk I did like was the inclusion of a sports teams area, which reveals all teams for a host of sports. I soon found the Arizona Diamondbacks in the MLB thanks to this feature.
Getting around the giant site is a breeze – something that ought to be nailed by all the best AZ sportsbooks. DraftKings does this better than most other sportsbooks. Promo and VIP information is held within the second menu strip – there are several, but they’re easy to navigate – while all the help you’ll ever need is sourced at the bottom of the site. All told, DraftKings is a solid entry into the AZ sporting arena.

The best Arizona sportsbooks should have the best apps, too – and that’s something Caesars has nailed in this state. They’ve spent some time developing a sportsbook that’s easy to get around, with reasonable odds offered throughout a range of markets. All the usual suspects are there, with a solid welcome offer provided for newcomers. So, if you like what you see, there is an opening deal to check out first. Even if you’re visiting on a smartphone, you won’t feel as if you’re struggling to cope with the amount of info they’ve got for you there. I had a great time moving through the information, finding top sports, checking the odds, and adding some bets to my betslip with no issues at all.
I noted a good support section, filled with several categories and their associated questions. I’d suggest checking this out first, as it’s one of the best ways to get a feel for the site and its many highlights. I was able to find multiple payment methods there – way more than I expected – and it became more obvious that Caesars was marking its spot as one of the most helpful sportsbooks in Arizona.
Everything about Fanatics feels personal, as you’ll soon realize. They’ve got a page that is curated with you in mind, so as you begin to use this entry on my Arizona sportsbook list, you’ll begin to get more out of it. That’s one of the perks I liked about Fanatics. It’s another site that fares well on the app front too, particularly relating to the layout. It’s tricky to develop a sportsbook app that gives easy access to the info you need without cluttering the design, but Fanatics has managed it.
They’ve also created a FanCash rewards program, which provides players with up to 10% in FanCash on every bet, whether it succeeds or fails. This racks up in your account and you can then use it to choose the rewards that are best for you. This feels a little different to the other VIP or rewards programs I’ve seen at other sites. It’s certainly a good quirk to find. I also noted the range of markets available, including same game parlays, which puts Fanatics front and center in the Copper State. It seemed the deeper I went, the more range and features I found, and that’s a promising sign for any site that makes it onto my AZ sportsbooks list. For this relative newcomer to the market (it went live in 2024), it’s already making plenty of positive waves.
Hard Rock Bet has recently undergone a relaunch in AZ, so it’s worth another look if you’ve been there in the past. It provides you with an opening offer to consider, and you can grab an app to get easy access to the site whenever you wish. There are plenty of sports and teams to cover, with boosts and promos appearing at the top of the menu. This can get a little full though, with more scrolling required to reach the other sections. Other than that, the lighter design makes it a more appealing entry on my list of all Arizona sportsbooks. That said, the popular section is so full, it’s harder to find what you need there.
It looks like Betway AZ may soon leave the sportsbook market, as it believes there isn’t enough scope to continue and turn a profit. Up till now, Betway has been available in Arizona and has provided its members with competitive odds and plenty of markets and sports coverage too. By the time you read this, the exit may already have occurred. If not, I’d suggest checking out one of the other sportsbooks in AZ available on this list. I’ll bring you an update when I know more.
This sportsbook certainly has a lot to share, with the menu doing some heavy lifting to help you find your preferred sports and teams. I liked the Live Right Now and Starting Soon options at the top of the menu, helping to keep me apprised of what’s happening and when. The site also has plenty of eye-catching promos across the top of the page, so it’s easy to see the current welcome offer and many others to follow beyond that point. It’s a busy site, and it might take a little longer to settle in, but there’s lots on offer.
Famous, yes, but does it rank among the Arizona online betting sites you’d like to join? It doesn’t have the biggest list of sports I’ve ever seen, although the list of popular sports will change depending on what’s happening. The help section isn’t easy to find, tucked away as it is behind the person logo in the top right of the site. You’ll find a host of promos and bonuses there too once you’ve opened that section. Good odds are offered across multiple markets here, so it’s certainly worth a look.
This sportsbook offers Arizonians the chance to download an app for their iOS or Android device. I’d recommend doing this because the desktop design was a little strange. The full width of the page didn’t fit the screen, so it required some scrolling to see everything. And there is plenty to see, too, thanks to the various categories available there, covering all popular sports, specials, promos, and lots more besides. It has all the ingredients to be a big hit, but a little finessing here and there would be great.
You can’t miss the first offer for newcomers at Bally Bet in AZ, but this is only the start of the promotional journey you might go on there. It comes with live streaming and live betting, providing you with the scope to follow your favorite players and sports with no hassle. The apps boast a logical design that’s easy to follow. You can bet on everything from college football to all the top leagues and sports. Bally Bet AZ has earned its place among the best Arizona online sportsbooks.
Sahara Bets AZ was among many sportsbooks in AZ, but didn’t occupy that space for long. As of July 2024, it has ceased to operate in the state. Punters who used the site should make any necessary withdrawals before August 8th, at which point the site will cease to be. Presumably this will mean any funds still held there will be inaccessible beyond that point.
Superbook has bitten the dust in Arizona, as it ceased its operations in the Grand Canyon state as of July 19th 2024. If you were already a member there, you still have time to withdraw anything remaining in your account. Head over there ASAP if you did have an account there.
This looks far more basic than many other Arizona online sportsbooks. If you’re looking for the top sports you will certainly find them, but there is little scope to offer anything more unusual. Each sport provides live action, upcoming, and highlights, with multiple bet lines for each. I was also able to see the latest live sporting events once I reached the homepage. The approach is ideal for newcomers to sports betting, for sure. It’s harder to see enough appeal for seasoned bettors in Arizona, though.
It’s too late to get a slice of sporting action at Unibet AZ, as the site closed its doors to new players and existing members on June 4th 2024. It was previously one of the better-known brands to consider using among the available Arizona sportsbooks, but no more.
Unfortunately, WynnBet has become another casualty in the Grand Canyon state as far as Arizona online sportsbooks are concerned. According to info I found in their FAQ, they cite ‘commercial reasons’ for doing this. It looks as if the market wasn’t profitable enough to continue putting in the required effort to operate there. Bettors have until 11am ET on August 29th 2024 to make any necessary withdrawals from their account.
Fubo Sportsbook lasted less than a year from its launch in AZ, which occurred in December 2021. It lasted until October 2022, at which point it ceased operations in the state. There is no sign that the decision will be reversed at any point, unfortunately.
TwinSpires has had quite the journey, but after some research, I noted that the TwinSpires sportsbook closed in 2023. TwinSpires does still focus on the horse racing market, for which there are two apps available via the App Store and Google Play. This is your only remaining opportunity to place wagers with the business, following their withdrawal from the sportsbook market.
Let’s check out some of the new betting sites you can explore in Arizona. The freshest options appear in the below table – and you might be surprised at just how fresh these sites are. Not all available sportsbooks have been around since 2021, the inception of legalized sports betting in the state.
As I have researched sports betting in several states, it’s become clear that you never can be sure whether there are any quirks of betting that come into play in a specific state. What do I mean by this? Simply that you should not assume you can bet on everything to do with sports, even though sports betting is indeed legal in the Copper State.
The good news is that college sports are covered, so if you’ve got a favorite team or you want to cover a sport provided by your old college, you can do so. That said, you cannot make any college prop bets if they focus on an individual player. It is possible to place wagers on a seasonal performance though. Those are the only oddities I have found in Arizona thus far – if any others come to light, or the rules change to exclude something that you can currently bet on, I’ll let you know about it here.
It’s up to the Arizona Department of Gaming to provide licenses for legal sportsbooks in this state. However, they do impose limitations on the number of sportsbooks that can operate in the state. Twenty licenses were available upon launching in 2021. That being said, we’ve seen there are several leaders in the category, and several other live sportsbooks to try as well, all of which number less than 20 at the time of writing.
A small window opened in July 2024 for any potential operators to apply for a license to run a sportsbook in the Grand Canyon state. That date has now passed, so it remains to be seen whether any new sportsbooks might crop up in future. If they do, I’ll add them to this list with info on all relevant topics, including betting payment methods.

There are many big brands with live sportsbooks available in Arizona today. Among the top brands you will find names such as Bet365, BetMGM, FanDuel, and BetRivers. Each offers its own take on the sports betting market.
The minimum age has been set at 21 years in Arizona. This is higher than the minimum age of 18, which has been set in several other states that allow sports betting online today.
No, although all residents who are aged 21 or over can place bets at a licensed sportsbook. If you are not a resident of Arizona, you can still bet on sports if you are within state lines. If you’re outside the state, it is illegal to bet on sports there.
Yes – if the sportsbook you are looking at using does have an app available, you can download that instead of visiting the website. Make sure the sportsbook has a valid license issued by the Arizona Department of Gaming before you do anything else.
The good news is that you do have plenty to choose from. This means you may benefit from reading some reviews, just to get a better sense of what each site and provider is like. You can then compare the features to find your ideal sportsbook in the state.
