Hartman, 30, is no stranger to the NHL Department of Player Safety. He has been suspended on four occasions during his 11 seasons in the league, including receiving a three-game ban last April after throwing his stick toward officials.Deadspin | Wild's Ryan Hartman to have in-person hearing with NHL
On Saturday, Hartman appeared to drive Stutzle face-first into the ice following a faceoff during the second period of the Wild's 6-0 setback to the Senators in Ottawa. The action left Stutzle bloodied with a cut above his eyebrow.
Hartman was handed a match penalty for attempting to injure on the play.
Earlier in the period, Stutzle received a two-minute minor penalty for slashing against Hartman.
Hartman has 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists) in 48 games this season.
