The Cowboys are intriguing at +7.5, but I cannot recommend them outside of the value of the wager itself.
In Week 10, the Cowboys had Cooper Rush and Trey Lance play quarterback and were utterly dreadful. In their loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Lance and Rush combined for 17 completions, 29 attempts, 66 passing yards, and one interception.
That’s just over 2.2 yards per attempt. Ouch.
The Texans do allow 2.10 passing touchdowns per game to opposing quarterbacks, but I’m simply not convinced Rush or Lance can take advantage of that. Lance offers some upside with his rushing ability, but he’s also the one who threw the interception.
The Cowboys also have a lackluster running game. They’re 31st in the league at 83.7 yards per game. Meanwhile, the Cowboys defense is allowing over 111 yards and a touchdown per game to running backs.
Texans running back Joe Mixon has scored in all but one game this season. The game he didn’t score in was when he got hurt in Week 2.
I simply have no faith in the Cowboys quarterbacks to do anything of note offensively. The Texans cover here.
